Protecting Nature, Living Sustainably: Our Daily Commitment at Glampstay

At Glampstay, nature is at the heart of everything we do. Nestled in a peaceful, unspoiled setting, we try our best to preserve the environment and make sustainability a part of daily life. Every choice we make, from the materials we use to the way we serve meals, is a step toward reducing our impact. Here’s how we bring these values to life every day.

Working in Harmony with Nature

From the beginning, we designed Glampstay to blend into its surroundings. Our tents are dismountable, and each time we can we us locally sourced materials to minimize our footprint. Instead of concrete, we use elevated platforms to protect the land and let nature thrive beneath us. We choose reclaimed wood, recycled pallet wood, and natural fabrics to create a warm, comfortable space that respects the environment.

Preserving Wild Plants and Natural Landscapes

We believe in letting nature grow freely. Our land is kept as wild as possible, allowing native plants, flowers, and trees to flourish. This not only supports local wildlife but also keeps the landscape authentic and untouched.

Why We Use Dry Toilets

To reduce water waste (15l per flush), we use dry toilets in our accommodations. These modern, odor-free systems don't need water and turn waste into compost, creating a sustainable cycle. It’s a small change that makes a big difference in protecting natural resources.

Water and Energy Conservation

Water is precious, so we do our best to use it wisely. We plan to collect rainwater for non-drinking purposes and use low-flow taps and showers to reduce waste. Our linens are washed only when necessary, and we encourage guests to reuse towels to minimize laundry impact.

For energy, we prioritize solar power where possible. Our hot water is heaten by the sun, Solar lamps light up pathways, reducing electricity use and light pollution so guests can enjoy the night sky. Inside, we use LED lights to keep things efficient without sacrificing comfort.

Reducing Waste: A No-Plastic Approach

We do our best to cut down on waste. Instead of single-use plastics, we use filtered water drums and provide refillable glass bottles in each tent. Toiletries come in refillable containers, and our kitchen minimizes waste by using reusable packaging and composting food scraps.

Sourcing Local, Eating Sustainably

We believe food should be fresh, local, and responsibly sourced. We prepare some meals ourselves using seasonal ingredients, while others come from nearby restaurants that share our values. This way, we support local markets and reduce food miles.

To avoid waste, we ask guests to reserve meals in advance, allowing us to prepare just the right amount. Any leftovers are composted or shared with local farms.

Involving the Local Community

Sustainability isn’t just about nature—it’s about people too. We work with the local community by hiring staff from nearby villages, sourcing supplies from local stores, and partnering with small businesses, e

ncouraging our guests to discover, eat, shop around. This particpate to strengthen the local economy while giving guests a richer experience.

Helping Guests Connect with Nature

We encourage guests to slow down and appreciate our environment. Whether it’s a peaceful nature walk, a foraging experience, or stargazing under the open sky, observing the small wildlife in our field, we hope to inspire a deeper respect for the natural world that stays with them long after their visit.

Small Steps, Big Impact

No single action will change the world, but every small effort counts. Choosing dry toilets, protecting wild landscapes, reducing waste, and supporting local communities are all part of a bigger goal: making travel and nature coexist in harmony.

Always Learning, Always Improving

Sustainability is a journey, and we’re always looking for better ways to do things. Whether it’s testing new eco-friendly materials, reducing waste further, or supporting conservation efforts, we keep learning and evolving.

At Glampstay, we don’t claim to have all the answers, but we do our best to make responsible choices every day. By staying with us, guests become part of this effort, helping to protect and appreciate the beauty of nature together.
